The short answer is: in whatever order you feel would allow you to realise benefit most quickly back in your day job!

All of the modules we offer under the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis are intended to stand alone - in fact, not all delegates take the whole Diploma (although for a full understanding, we do recommend you consider working towards this); we have delegates who choose to take just a single module.

Perhaps you are looking for a solid overview of the Business Analysis landscape, through the Business Analysis Practice module.  Maybe you are currently at a point in a project where you need to write good requirements, and would benefit from the Requirements Engineering course?  If you are currently responsible for the Business Case of a project or need to brush up on the financial side of business analysis, the Commercial Awareness training could be a good option.  Or if you specifically want to improve your diagramming and modelling skills, Modelling Business Processes would be a good choice.

As well as your specific needs, a lot of delegates choose to start the Diploma in Business Analysis by choosing the next available module in our schedule.  This is a perfectly sensible approach and you will not be disadvantaged by taking this option.

Whilst all of the BCS Business Analysis modules are complementary, and you will be able to connect the topics in each, you can attend in any order (no prior knowledge of other modules is assumed).

But Business Analysis Practice and Requirements Engineering are Core Modules?

Business Analysis Practice and Requirements Engineering are core modules only in so much as you are required to complete these to obtain the Diploma.  Being core modules does not indicate that they are needed before taking the other modules.  In fact, BCS themselves state that "most delegates start their journey towards the Diploma with [the Commercial Awareness] certificate" - this is not a core module.

I'm Still Not Sure Which Module Should Be My First?

No problem!  Drop us a message or a call and we will be happy to talk about your specific needs, look at our current availability, and help you to make a sensible decision.
